This 10" round bowl features many shades and transparencies of purple, red and orange glass. The central design was created from a 'pattern bar' - a solid glass bar fused together from many individual strips of glass. Those strips were loosely stacked together in a mold and melted together, allowing the glass to bend and flow at temperatures exceeding 1450 degrees. The resulting pattern is nature's own design, caused by gravity and the individual melting points of the glass strips. The pattern bar was sliced into thin pieces and the slices aligned to accentuate the graceful arcs created during the fusing process.
The colorful pattern bar center has been surrounded by a rich plum colored glass border and slumped into a round, gently sloping bowl. The result is a unique and beautiful piece, perfect as a gift or to beautify your own home!
